CMHA Elgin Gradual Return to Services

As an organization, CMHA Elgin has taken much care and consideration in adjusting our service delivery model to operate programming through phone or virtual means. Through this entire process, the integrity of our services, as well as the safety of our staff, clients and the community have been our top priority.

Over the past two months, we have been busy developing policies and procedures, obtaining additional protective equipment, as well as creating the appropriate plan to begin delivering more in-person services, as they are appropriate, safe and manageable for our staff, clients and community.

In alignment with the government of Ontario’s phased re-opening process and with COVID-19 case numbers on a consistent decline within our community and the province, CMHA Elgin will begin implementing its own plan to gradually restore our services. Our Gradual Restoring of Services Plan will be ongoing and will occur in stages.

Our next phase of gradually restoring services will include the following and begin over the next few weeks:

  • Continue to provide virtual service delivery where it remains effective and practical, with a transition to limited face-to-face participant services
  • Participant will continue to receive face-to-face services and support within the community as required
  • Increase group activities with an increased number of participants and safety guidelines
  • Eventually there will be limited access to CMHA sites. We will provide an update online or call the main reception line to inquire: 519-633-1781
  • The ability to quickly return to our current state of services if the need arises, in order to respond to an increase of COVID-19 cases within our programs/community and where the public health is at risk

Each of our sites will begin to gradually return to in-person services based on our phase 2 plan and may be subject to change. In-person Services Available:

  • In-person crisis support at STEGH Emergency Department
  • Case Management providing in-person support within the community, as needed
  • Housing programs continue to accept and review referrals
  • Intake for services available by phone – 519-633-1781
  • Virtual and telephone services continue to be available
