Community Treatment Orders (CTOs)
A Community Treatment Order (CTO) is a community-based treatment plan for care and supervision of a person with serious mental illness. CTOs are an alternative to long-term hospital treatment and are especially an option for people who have a pattern of stopping treatment or care after being discharged from a hospital.
CTOs are issued by psychiatrists and involve a community support team. Our CTO Case Manager assists in the implementation of the plan within the community. This service is available to individuals living in St. Thomas or Elgin County. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 4:30PM. Additional support is available through our Crisis Outreach Team.
